At Kids’ Voice, we are committed to dedicating the time and effort needed to ensure every child’s safety and well-being, often working on a case for years to secure the best possible outcome. This dedication was displayed in our work with Andrew, who was just 8 months old when Kids’ Voice was appointed as his Guardian ad Litem (GAL). Born with a dependency on drugs, Andrew needed a stable and loving home to thrive.

When Andrew’s Aunt stepped forward to provide guardianship, Kids’ Voice was there to support both her and Andrew. From the very beginning, we advocated for Andrew’s needs, addressing concerns about his nutrition and overall well-being. Despite the initial challenges, including Andrew’s low weight due to inadequate nourishment, his Aunt remained committed to providing him with a caring and safe environment.

As Andrew grew older, complexities in his family situation continued to arise. His Mother struggled with substance abuse and legal issues, including her refusal to keep Andrew away from his Father, who was on parole for a serious offense. Kids’ Voice and the GAL worked tirelessly to ensure that the Court had all the necessary information to uphold the guardianship with Andrew’s Aunt, ensuring his continued safety and stability.

Throughout the process, Kids’ Voice and the GAL remained dedicated to balancing Andrew’s need for a secure environment with his Mother’s desire for contact. Despite the ups and downs in the Mother’s life, including her arrest and subsequent probation, we facilitated safe and supervised visitations between Mother and child.

Today, Andrew continues to flourish in his Aunt’s care, surrounded by the love and stability he needs. His visits with his Mother are carefully supervised, ensuring a safe and supportive connection. The time, dedication, and compassionate advocacy of Kids’ Voice have made a profound difference in Andrew’s life, providing him with a nurturing environment where he can thrive and grow.
